Becoming a parent, whether it is your first or third time, is a transformative experience, and I am here to help prepare you, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually for an easier, calmer and more confident birth.
What is Hypnobirthing?
HypnoBirthing is more than just hypnosis, it is a philosophy as well as technique. It is a childbirth education program designed to keep you calm and relaxed, to breathe and ‘enjoy’ your birth. It will give you the knowledge and confidence to support you through your labour, by teaching self-hypnosis techniques, visualisation, breathing and deepening techniques and so much more. As we go through the HypnoBirthing journey, you will learn the beauty behind the magic. HypnoBirthing doesn’t promise a ‘perfect’ birth, but it can definitely help you to have a positive and empowered birth, no matter how it unfolds.
Why the Mongan Method?
The Mongan Method was devised by Marie Mongan, founder of the HypnoBirthing Institute and is the most comprehensive birthing education program around. It is a program that considers the psychological, as well as the physical well being of the mother, her birth partner, and the newborn, independent of context, whether that is in the quiet of a home, a hospital, or a birth center. Marie believed that when we release fear, which many women associate with childbirth, we will experience a gentle, easy birth. HypnoBirthing - The Mongan Method challenges the myth that pain is a natural part of childbirth.

What are the benefits of HypnoBirthing®?
Since a young age, women are inundated by negative stories of other women’s birth experiences. Everyone, from their mothers, sisters, aunts, cousins, friends, and even strangers, wants to tell them the horrors of giving birth. We are conditioned to believe that labour is excruciatingly painful; and because of this, women today hold an unprecedented fear of giving birth. This extreme fear causes their bodies to become tense, and that tension prohibits their bodies from easily performing a normal physiological function. The result is exactly what they feared most – long, painful birthing or unnecessary intervention, and this course can change that.

Who is HypnoBirthing For?
It doesn’t matter if it’s your first baby, and you’re feeling anxious and overwhelmed, or it’s your fifth baby, and you’re looking to explore something new. HypnoBirthing provides you with the tools to help you and your partner navigate labour, and supports you to have a gentle and calm birth experience, no matter, where or how you give birth.
The course is ideally designed for couples, so mums-to-be and their birthing partner, but our doors are open to anyone. If you don’t have a partner, you’re still very welcome to participate on your own, and you can still have a wonderful empowering birth experience regardless.
You’re welcome to join a course at anytime, and honestly it’s never to early or late; However, ideally, the programme is most effective if started at between 20 and 30 weeks, which allows you plenty of time to practice, practice, practice.
Our sessions are relaxed, friendly and fun, and they allow you to take a moment to disconnect from the craziness of life, and learn how to prepare your mind and body, for the birth of your little one. From the very first class, you will feel more positive, confident, and relaxed about your upcoming birth.
